The Heritage Of Labone Over The Years.

1965

R.A. Labone & Co. Ltd. established in Ilkeston as a supplier of technical mouldings and pressings for the automotive and telecommunication industries.

1968

Manufacturing facility at Castleside was established.

1993

Press shop closed to allow site to focus on injection moulding and assembly

2001

Factory extended, more than doubling production area and allowing moulding machines range to be extended to 350T

2004

Labone Castleside Ltd. established as a subsidiary of RA Labone & Co. Ltd

2005

Moulding machines range extended to 800T to focus on supply on larger mouldings and assemblies to 1st Tier automotive customers.

2006-7

Further investment into a new management team and 10 new machines, ranging from 130T to 800T to achieve J.I.T supply to 1st tier customers

2008

Relocated off-site storage facility to an adjacent factory to improve logistics.

2013

EDI introduced and fully integrated into ERP system.

2015

Implemented bar code scanning to replace manual entry of inventory transactions and enable a fully traceable despatch process.

2017

Further 15000sq ft. manufacturing facility in Consett opened. Investment in 7 new machines upto 1080T plus ancillary equipment. Investment in MouldFlow analysis software.

2019

Due to expansion Labone Castleside relocated to a larger additional unit located on the same site as existing offices and manufacturing and in so doing improving efficiency as well as investment in 4 new machines plus ancillary equipment.
